The Macon County High track and field teams posted five first-place finishes at a meet held at Watertown on March 21.

The Tiger 3,200-meter relay team placed first, and sophomore Taylor Ward had two first-place finishes. Ward won the 800-meter run in a time of 3:08.78, more than eight seconds ahead of sophomore teammate Donavyn Green (3:17.43).

Ward also won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 6:08.79, more than a minute ahead of Green and Upperman sophomore Sarah Jones (who tied for second place).

Macon County sophomore Elliott McGuire won the boys 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:29.67. McGuire was more than two seconds better than the second-place runner, Watertown sophomore Braden Leffew.

Macon County sophomore Dylan Smith (5:33.53) and freshman Bryson Davenport (5:59.58) placed third and fourth, respectively.

Macon County had the only four girls participating in the 400-meter dash, which was won by sophomore Selena Rios (1:54.82). Junior Ashley Alexander (1:56.63), sophomore Kameron Meador (2:01.18) and junior Aaliyah Clark (2:09.81) placed second, third and fourth, respectively.

The Tiger 400-meter relay team of Rios, Skylar Davis, Julie Adams and Hannah Rice placed third, as did the 800-meter relay team of Rios, Davis, Alysia Nash and Rice. The 400-meter relay posted a time of 1:03.72, more than six seconds behind first-place Watertown (57.26). The 800-meter relay team had a time of 2:15.07, with first-place Watertown recording a time of 2:00.70.

The boys 800-meter and 400-meter relay teams - with each consisting of Austin Robinson, Landon Whittemore, Cameron Houston and Dawson Long - placed second and third, respectively. The 800-meter relay team had a time of 1:46.92, more than six seconds behind Watertown (1:40.63). In the 400-meter relay, the team posted a time of 50.67, almost three seconds back of first-place Watertown (47.73).

Macon County had two boys place third in the throws, Stephen Lancaster (shot put) and Logan Malotte (discus).
