Isaac Meador (at left) and Chelsey Coley won the Macon County Golf Course club championships.

Isaac Meador and Chelsey Coley claimed the club championships at the Macon County Golf Course on July 28.

The two-day tournament was held from July 27-28.

All seven of the male golfers competing shot even par or better in the opening round, with Trey Reid's 65 sending him into the final round with a two-stroke lead.

However, Reid followed that up with a 77 on Sunday to fall out of contention.

Isaac Meador - a 16-year-old junior at Macon County High School - posted back-to-back rounds of 68 to finish two strokes better than recent Macon County High graduate Landon Polston, who shot 67 in the opening round before posting a 71 in round two.

Meador was the only golfer to shoot below par in the second round.

Justin Harp shot consecutive rounds of 70 to place third with a two-day total of 140.

Maddox Crowder - a 13-year-old - and Kyle Deering posted 141 totals to tie for fourth place.

Coley ran away with the ladies championship, finishing 10 strokes better than the second-place golfer (Savanna Williams).

Coley shot an opening round of 78, followed by a one-over-par round of 71.

Williams also improved upon her opening round of 82 with a 77.

Tonya Wells (86-83) placed third.
