Macon County Junior High Ely Malo delivers a pitch.

COOKEVILLE -- The Macon County Junior High baseball team scored six runs in the first inning in Friday evening's 7-5, five-inning victory at Algood Middle School.

Eli Mercer had a triple during the first-inning outburst, and he scored along with Ely Malo, Rawley Ritchie, Jordan Rogers, Braylon Flowers and Isaac Kirby.

Flowers crossed the plate again in the fourth.

Algood scored single runs in the first and second innings and produced three in the fourth.

The Tigers rolled to a 10-3, four-inning victory over visiting Monroe County Middle School last Thursday evening.

Macon County scored five runs in the second inning, with Malo, Flowers, Hunter Patterson, Soup Woodard and Nate Green crossing the plate.

Then, Malo, Flowers, Rogers and Kirby all scored in the third.

Flowers tripled and scored his squad's final run in the fourth.

Monroe County scored one run in the second and two in the fourth.

The Tigers suffered a 5-2 loss at Portland on March 25.

The Panthers scored two runs in both the first and second innings and added another in the third.

Malo crossed the plate in the sixth inning, and John Marsh scored in the seventh.
