Macon County High senior Logan Thompson delivers a first-inning pitch.

The Macon County High baseball squad scored in four of its six innings in Monday evening's season opener, a 9-0 victory over visiting Jackson County.

Logan Thompson and Jordan Steen combined on a one-hitter.

Cole Parkerson's first-inning single accounted for the Blue Devils' lone hit.

Thompson pitched 4 2/3 innings, issued three base on balls and struck out five hitters.

Steen tossed the final 2 1/3 innings, retiring 10 of the 11 hitters he faced. He walked one hitter and struck out seven hitters.

Tiger senior Kade Allen drew a leadoff walk in the second inning, stole second base and scored.

Then, Allen drew a third-inning walk and scored on a home run by junior Isaac Belton.

Belton doubled in two runs in the fifth and scored on senior Trent Cook's double.

Issac Meador, Cameron Mercer and Thompson all crossed the plate in the fourth.

Allen and Belton had back-to-back singles in the sixth and scored the game's final two runs.

Belton finished with three hits.
