The Macon County High School girls soccer team played to a 3-3 tie with visiting Livingston Academy last Thursday evening.

The Tigerettes overcame a 1-0, halftime deficit.

"I thought our back line handled a lot of difficult situations well," Macon County head coach Terrance Pryor said. "Livingston plays in a way that makes it hard on your back line to defend, and we did a good job of dealing with their constant long balls ... (defenders) Chloe Carver, Morgan Carter, Olivia Belton and Sadie Morgan."

Macon County scored the first two goals of the second half to take the lead.

Tigerette senior midfielder Jamie Ashburn scored two goals, while classmate Keeley Carter scored the other goal for Macon County, which moved to 1-3-1.

Macon County junior Saranda Woodson made her first start in goal and played the entire match.

"Saranda Woodson showed tons of promise in her first game ever as a keeper," Pryor said. "The whole team battled really hard to take the lead 2-1 after a 1-0, halftime deficit."

The Tigerettes were slated to open district play with a match at Greenbrier on Tuesday, and Macon County hosts another district foe when Springfield visits Lafayette for a match on Thursday evening at 6:30.
