Macon County Junior High guard Macey Meador scored a team-high 8 points in the Area 11 Tournament championship game, a 32-25 loss to West Wilson Middle.

DICKSON -- The Macon County Junior High girls basketball team struggled offensively in the second half of the Area 11 Tournament championship game, suffering a 32-25 loss to West Wilson Middle in a game played on Jan. 22 at Dickson Middle School.

It was the third meeting between the two teams this season. They played in Mt. Juliet on Dec. 3, with West Wilson capturing a 41-21 victory, but the Tigerettes avenged that loss with a 34-23 victory over the visiting Lady Wildcats on Dec. 20.

In the third meeting, Macon County trailed 8-5 after one period of play before limiting West Wilson to 2 points in the second stanza.

Both Macey Meador and Karly Ramsey scored four points in the period, helping the Tigerettes take a 15-10 lead into halftime.

However, Macon County produced just two field goals in the second half.

The Tigerettes managed just 4 points in the third quarter and trailed 22-19 entering the final period.

The Lady Wildcats made 5 of 8 free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter to help seal the win.

Meador led Macon County offensively with 8 points, backed by Allie Thompson (6 points), Dallas Caldwell (5), Karly Ramsey (4) and Ellie Coley (2).

Meador and Thompson were named to the all-tournament team.

Jakoria Woods led West Wilson offensively with 12 points, and teammate Kensley Carter provided 9 points.
