WESTMORELAND -- The Macon County High School boys basketball team dominated play on Nov. 19, rolling to its first victory of the season with a 73-34 romp at Westmoreland.
The Tigers outscored the host squad in all four quarters, leading 16-5 after one period of play, 29-14 at halftime and 59-25 entering the fourth quarter.
Macon County shot 50 percent from the field and made nine 3-pointers, with senior Trent Cook and sophomore Connor Johnson making three each.
Cook made 9 of 15 field-goal attempts, finishing with 21 points and 9 rebounds.
Tiger senior forward Clay West provided 13 points and 6 rebounds, converting on 6 of 8 field goals, and junior forward Lake Reid had 12 points and 8 rebounds.
Johnson came off of the bench to score 9 points, thanks to three 3-pointers.
Eleven players scored for Macon County.
Tiger senior guard Cameron Welch provided 7 assists.
Eagle junior guard Dawson Mitchell scored 10 points, converting on 4 of 5 field-goal attempts.
Macon County was slated to play at Clay County on Tuesday evening and will host Smith County on Friday for the two teams' district opener.
