Billy Wayne Perrigo

Billy Wayne Perrigo was born on Nov. 7, 1938, in Lafayette, to the late James Milton Perrigo and Lucy Lillian Cothron Perrigo. He was one of 11 children born to this union.

Along with his parents, Billy was also preceded in death by: his brothers, A.P. Perrigo, R.C. Perrigo, Ralph Perrigo, Randall Perrigo; and sisters, Pauline East, Lorene Woods, Hester West, and Hazel Cook.

Billy was saved by the sweet Lord's grace as a young man. He was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon.

Billy was also a long time member of the Lafayette Masonic Lodge No. 543.

Billy was employed at Lafayette Manufacturing. He retired after more than 40 years of dedicated service.

Billy enjoyed watching Macon County High School sports and University of Tennessee football and basketball.

He also enjoyed playing his guitar and singing gospel music.

He loved cutting up and was always joking around.

Most of all Billy loved going to church and spending time with his family.

Billy was called to his Heavenly home on May 1 at the age of 80. He is no longer suffering.

Billy's soul is resting easy with his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.

Billy is survived by; his wife, Faye Wakefield Perrigo; sons, Teddy Perrigo, Jamie Perrigo (and wife, Cindy); grandchildren, Evan Perrigo, Luke Perrigo; sister, Lucille Jones (and husband, J.B.); and brother, Jimmy Perrigo. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

Funeral services for were conducted on May 4 from Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, with Jimmy Claiborne and Dean Sircy officiating. Interment followed in Macon County Memorial Gardens, with Steve Jones, Evan Perrigo, Jeff Harper, Danny Richards, Michael Richards, Steve Barnes, Carl Blankenship, Jackie Wakefield, Matthew Perrigo and Ricky Perrigo serving as pallbearers.

The deacons of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.

Alexander Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
