Irvin Kenneth Roberts, 84, of the Hermitage Springs community in Clay County, passed away on May 20 at Celina Health Care and Rehabilitation in Celina.

Funeral Services were conducted on May 23 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, with Roy Henson officiating. Interment followed in Browning Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were his former co-workers at the Jackson, Clay and Macon County Health Department. Active pallbearers were Jeff Spears, Jody Meadows, Adam McLerran, Andrew Meadows, Jedediah McLerran, Shane Roberts, Robert Roberts and Jesse McLerran.

Irvin was born on Oct. 30, 1934 in Clay County, one of three siblings born to the late Irvin and Maylene Birdwell Roberts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Chance Valentine.

He was an environmentalist with the Clay, Jackson and Macon County health departments, a Hermitage Springs School teacher (where he also was a basketball coach), and a member of the Clementsville Church of Christ.

Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Jeff Spears of Hermitage Springs, Pamela and Jody Meadows of Hermitage Springs, Gina and Adam McLerran of Hermitage Springs; grandchildren, Shelby DeWeese, Shea Spears, Andrew Meadows, Erin Meadows, Jedediah McLerran, Jesse McLerran; great-granddaughter, Khloe Yingling; brothers and sisters-in-law; Michael and Brenda Roberts of the Milestown community, Joe and Carol Roberts of the Milestown community.

Arrangements were entrusted to Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs.
