Wilma Ragland Glover

Wilma Ragland Glover, 89, of Lafayette, passed away on Aug. 25 at Macon Community Hospital in Lafayette.

Funeral services were conducted on Aug. 28 from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette, with Gerald Ragland officiating. Interment was held in Anderson & Son Memorial Park.

James Stinson, Wallie Stinson, Charles Hopewell, Randy Ragland, Ronald Claiborne and Glenn Claiborne served as pallbearers.

Wilma was born on Nov. 26, 1929, in Macon County to the late Roscoe and Myrtle Mae (Johns) Ragland.

She married Charles Douglas, better known as Doug Glover, on Dec. 23, 1948, who preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 2007. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: a brother, Gorden Ragland; sister-in-law, Jewell Ragland; and brothers-in-law, Willie Raney and Roy "Red" Waldrop.

Wilma was saved on July 4, 1980, at Cedar Bluff Missionary Baptist Church and became a member on Sept. 26, 2010.

She worked at Formfit Rogers for 45 years, starting there at the age of 16, and at the time, it was called Kingsboro Mills. She gained many friends during her years of employment there and also at her church. She loved spending time with her family and friends and getting to talk with them.

She is survived by: her sister, Gail Waldrop of Lafayette; niece, Cindy Stinson (and husband Dale) Stinson of Lafayette; great-niece and great-nephews, Casey Hopewell (and husband Charles), Wallie Stinson (and wife Chelsea), James Stinson; great-great nieces and nephews, Carleigh Stinson, Lane Stinson and Charley Hopewell.

Arrangements were entrusted to Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette.
