Roselene Nell Blankenship McDonald, better known as Rose, was born into this world Dec. 2, 1939, in Macon County, Tennessee, to the late Edgar Benton Blankenship and Dorothy Dee Roark Blankenship.

She passed from this life to her Heavenly reward, Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the age of 84 years, three months, and 15 days.

Rose was saved as a young girl and was a member of Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church. She married Mr. Harry Dwayne McDonald Nov. 22, 1956, and they were blessed with almost 60 years of marriage before his passing March 4, 2016.

Along with her husband and parents, Rose was also preceded in death by a son, William Dwayne McDonald; brothers, R.B. Blankenship, Bobby Blankenship and Benton Blankenship; and sister, Charlene Holland.

Rose was a homemaker and very much enjoyed taking care of her husband and children. She loved to sew and make many different crafts. Rose enjoyed going to auctions and she collected depression glass. When Rose became a senior citizen, she loved going to the senior center in Smyrna and traveling with her senior friends. Rose loved her family very much and had a very special relationship with her grandchildren.

Rose McDonald is survived by her daughter, Katherine McDonald Parris and husband, Mike; a son, Kendall McDonald; grandchildren, Michael Parris and

Mariah Parris; great-grandchildren, Aiden Parris, Elijah Parris and Evelyn Parris; sisters, Janice Turner and husband, Steve, and Joyce Terry and husband, Danny; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from the chapel of Alexander Funeral with Elder Gayle Snoddy and Elder Jason Wheeley officiating. Interment followed in The Scott Cemetery.

Mike Parris, Michael Parris, Mark Blankenship, Kyle Turner, Jarvis Holland and Charlie Myers served as pallbearers.
